Toward a Theoretical Understanding of Queer Love
Through observation of queer lovers in history we see essential patterns which transcend culture and time. Traditional Western academe portrays misconstructions of homoerotic and queer love, if not entirely neglecting these constellations of human bonding altogether. Evidence conflicting with predominant (heterosexist) theories will be exhibited and discussed. From five years of international research, the presenter will offer seven styles of queer love, displayed by images of lovers and biographical narratives. Caution: intimate matters of love and speculated sexualities of deceased persons will be discussed in frank detail and may arouse prurient interest.
