Treatment of Inhibited Ejaculation and Other Penis Related Problems
Delayed or retarded ejaculation (RE) is a far rarer sexual concern than rapid ejaculation, but can result in significant sexual and relationship consequences. Situational RE is usually temporary and secondary to stressors, but can worsen if the precipitation factors are not dealt with or if the couple focuses too extensively on the sexual problem causing the relationship to deteriorate.
Lifelong and/or global RE is rarer still but is usually found in the context of particular upbringings, poor early sexual experiences or adaptations or particular religious beliefs. Occasionally global RE may be the result of a neurological process. The sexual consequences of lifelong RE can be significant.
This talk will focus on a Sexual Medicine Physician's experience in treating clients with both intact and affected neurology. Etiological theories of RE from a physician's perspective will be reviewed. A working schemata of approach, consisting of a combination of high sexual mental arousal appropriate to that client and various genital stimuli, including the use of vibrators, will be presented.
