High resolution ultrasound and energy Doppler mapping provide a means of observing the clitoris, uterus, ovaries, penis, scrotum and prostate during stimulation, arousal, and orgasm, and of monitoring vascularity. These observations provide a framework for organizing theories of sexual physiology.
