This one-hour session will present the politics and controversies behind the recent Surgeon General's Report. Educational objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to describe at least two major parts of the process by which the federal government conceptualizes sexuality as a public health issue.

 The Creation of False Memories
This one-hour and fifteen minute session will present information on how the "repressed memory syndrome" movement has had a profound impact on psychology and the public discourse about sexuality and relationships. At the end of this session, participants will be able to identify at least two ways in which the concept of "repressed memory" became reified in psychotherapy or the media.
